Family vacations at the beach made us love the sand in our toes

(and everywhere else too!).

Both of our parents were photographers in the Navy

and the multitude of black and white family photographs

from our many beach vacations in the 60's and 70's

were the inspiration for the decor of our restaurant.

As the picture shows, there are six siblings and

two are involved in the restaurant operation.

Lori, the youngest, is the on site, day to day operator.

Having graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree

in Business Administration, she has always worked in food and beverage.

From Chapel Hill. to Southern Pines, to Nags Head,

she has worked in many NC establishments.

Having inherited her mother's wanderlust,

(although mom stayed put and raised six children instead),

Lori traveled to Colorado in 1990.

She remained there for 20 years, operating a successful restaurant during that time.

Twenty snowy, cold winters later, Lori returned to the state of North Carolina,

where most of her family still resided,

and headed towards the beach where she loves to fish.

Mom and dad have passed away, but Lori gets inspiration

each day when she looks at their family photos

on the wall in the main dining room.

Having restaurant work in her veins, she searched for several years

to find the right location for her next endeavor, and when the

iconic Capt' Charlie's property became available in the delightful riverside

town of Swansboro, Lori jumped in.

The restaurant opened in June of 2014 and has

become a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.

Tommy, Lori's older brother and his wife Tami are

part owners in the restaurant as well.  Tom can often be seen

on Sundays cooking in the kitchen and coming up

with great menu items like our famous Puppy Puddin'.

Yep, you heard right, and it is delicious!

We are thankful for all who have contributed to our

great restaurant, including a loyal and hard working staff of

individuals, many who have been with us since we opened.

As well as our friendly regular customers who we look forward to

seeing and serving each day.

And most importantly, mom and dad, for giving us the

work ethic and integrity to be able to successfully operate a business.

Come see us and see what Swansboro Food & Beverage Co. is all about.

And as the sign in the dining room that is surrounded by our family photos reads,

"It's All About Family."

Come enjoy what we have to offer with YOUR family, and create some

wonderful memories of your time at the beach.

Thank you,  Lori, Tom and Tami Sakiewicz
